Camping at Bishop's Cabin

Our Bishop is good friends with Brent, and he was nice enough to let us spend a few nights at their family cabin. Their family was able to come up and spend some time together and we had a great time.
Here's Brent working his salmon magic on the grill. (Believe it or not, he's actually been able to turn some fish haters into fish lovers with his mad cooking skills.)
Family home evening with the Ellis's
Faith with her best friend.
Gracie spent hours playing with the Ellis kids out on the little docks.
Hey Faith, you've got a little dirt on your nose...
TJ getting some one on one time with his Dad.
I think we named him Freddie the frog... the kids had fun playing with him.
...time to sleep...
It's hard not to love Grandpa!

Brent looking a little like a male model...(but don't tell him that)
A summertime midnight in Alaska...

A little after midnight.
Around 1:00 AM this is about as dark as it gets this time of year.

It was around 72 degrees. That's swimsuit weather in Alaska folks. (Mom & Dad didn't think so.)
Another obligatory self portrait... (actually my Dad might have taken this one.)
Who wouldn't want to be best friends with my mommy?

....................................................................It's not dark yet... but she's getting tired.
.......................................................................................................Some kids are adorable even when their filthy.
TJ LOVED playing pokemon with the Ellis boys.

It takes a brave Grandma to let the kids play the way we let them in these next pictures....
................................................................................(oops I wasn't actually talking about this one. :) I think she's cute no matter what her hair looks like!
We found some great critters to play with. Gracie and Faith played with them the whole trip....
Beware of toes and small bodies wading in the water...
Because here come the Leeches!... Oh lovely.

Eeewww! :)

Ok so the leeches were very gross, but I have to tell you your mom and dad were so excited to go see you guys. We saw them a few times before they left and thats all they could talk about. Its good to see your kids still have that close bond with them. Remember you are loved by alot of people here. Looks like you guys are doing great. Hope your having a great summer.

I'm so happy for you and your family... a 3-week visit is AWESOME!!! I've enjoyed looking at your pictures. Big, big hugs for TJ, Gracie and Faith - and one for you and Brent, too! I miss you guys. r
